Background

B2B Informatics was formed in late 2008 by owner Susan Solomon, after seeing the escalating need for high quality data management solutions in basic science research. She experienced first hand that a lack of professional software or programming support for a laboratory often led investigators to find alternatives such as paper systems, Excel worksheets, and Microsoft Access databases to solve an immediate problem. However, these solutions were highly prone to human error and undocumented revision, and frequently fell short of facilitating downstream research activities. So, with that knowledge, she and her IT group began to develop a system to manage the execution of population-based research studies.

As research evolved, so too, did the requirements of the software. Today, this system, called Epilogs, manages nearly everything from subject registration and tracking, to questionnaire collection and lab testing.
